Yumondo experiencing some problems

This is to let you know that we currently have some problems with out database indexes so queries can take longer than expected and even time out. You may experience Error 500. We are currently fixing those indexes and hope to have yumondo back on track in a few minutes. Please bear with us - we appreciate your patience!

Interview with Yumondo user Milamio

A couple of weeks ago we have started to interview Yumondo users. Today we’re happy to publish a second interview: Milamio from Munich.

Robert: Please tell us who you are and what you do.

Milamio: My name is Simone, Iīm 29 and I work as a consultant for an email marketing agency here in Munich. I live in Munich for 1,5 years, originally I come from Heidelberg.

Robert: So how did you hear about Yumondo?

Milamio: Christian called me for some information about our newsletter technology.

Robert: What you like about Yumondo and what could be done better?

Milamio: The idea of sharing your favourite places, things and events with other people I like most. Itīs a good oppurtunity to find out new places in your own town, that you donīt know and in foreign cityīs where you are planning your holidays e.g. maybe even to meet people there from Yumondo.

Robert: What do you think about the mixture of different languages on Yumondo?

Milamio: Itīs ok. I have written some entries in German and in English.

Robert: We have noticed that you have already been very busy. You have recommended places in Munich, Heidelberg and even Southern France. Do they have a special meaning for you?

Milamio: Of course. In Munich and Heidelberg these are my favorite places and France was my holiday trip this year. It was so amazing and wonderful that I want to share it here.

Robert: Have you thought about to start a local Yumondo group for Munich, yet?

Milamio: No, not yet. :-)

Yumondo reviewed on “My life, served up fresh” blog

There’s a blog called “My life, served up fresh” that has a nice review of Yumondo.

I’m not sure who the author of the blog is, but thanks for the note!

Yumondo update August 28 - complete

Per Pit’s posting earlier today, the update has been installed.

running your own insider network on yumondo

We got something new for you! As a unique new feature, we have introduced closed groups on Yumondo today.

Basically, this means that you can build private groups on Yumondo. This means you can hide all stuff that is connected to the group (e.g. blog entries, photos, people) from non-members. If you got something special you want to share with your very best friends only you can post it in our closed groups now. Practically you can now run your own private yumondo club now.

Another new thing is the way the calendar is presented. Just check it out in the events category. As you might notice, thereīs a number of smaller but significant design changes. For instance take a look at our new lists of blog entries. We added a picture of the person who posted the entry and all content is shown at a glance. Enjoy!

Btw there is a lot more really cool stuff to come within the next weeks - stay tuned, stay with yumondo. And as always, your feedback and comments are greatly appreciated. Thereīs always room for improvement, based on your demands.

New poll “Are you interested in Yumondo community statistics?”

This week’s poll is about statistics. We used to publish information on this blog regularly about the growth in the Yumondo community, from number of members to number of places, and so on. We haven’t done that in a while, and I want to ask if people would like to see that information again.

Poll results: Yumondo makes you want to travel!

OK, so we didn’t get too many votes on this one, but it was 100% (4 votes) confirming that the listing of interesting places in Yumondo does indeed make some of our members want to pack their bags and hit the road! Thanks for voting!

Yumondo invites available elsewhere

If you’re looking for a Yumondo invite,

Yumondo on rev2

OK, we’re a lot late in linking to this review of Yumondo on Rev2. Thanks for the mention! I hope that the new interface that we’ve deployed answers some of the concerns with usability.

Checking out places in Singapore

I’m currently in Singapore, and hoping to check out some of the places our members have put on Yumondo. Tomorrow, I’m going to try to go to “A little bit of old Singapore pt. 1” Thanks for putting it up there, awee85!
